We had a good lunch at the Space Needle and then went to Paul Allen's "Experience The Music" pavilion. Paul Allen was co-founder of Microsoft and has a enormous interest in the Seattle music scene. He built this museum to honour Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Paul Revere and the Raiders and all the musicians in Seattle. In the Jimi Hendrix room they had his diary open to the page where he played a concert in the Capital theater in Ottawa. It was interesting to read his recollections of his meeting with Joni Mitchell, who was a regular in Ottawa folk scene. It seems that he enchanted with her as was David Crosby we meet her in Ottawa later that year. His comment on the citizens of Ottawa was that he thought they were "very strange."
The museum also had a section devoted to the creation of music with various instruments available and recording sessions that you can use to cut your own CD.
In the concert hall there was a "Rock School Battle Of The Bands". One female singer we thought was particularly outstanding. For a young women she could certainly belt out a song.
We then left for Seaside Or. This is a small seaside village with a long beach and many stores and hotels. The restaurant where we eat featured a magician who entertained us with his tricks.
We may spend another day here if I can get the van into a garage to fix the shocks. It was so bad driving down here today, it felt like we were in a roller coaster.
