Today we left Napa and traveled east to Reno Nevada. We took Interstate 80 across the Sierra Nevada mountains. This has to be one of the longest and steepest climbs we've done so far this trip. It seemed that after we passed Sacramento we were climbing for 30 minutes without a pause. Unfortunately on the other side of the road there was a serious accident where a truck had failed to negotiate a curve and had flipped over the guardrail.
We are staying at Harrah's in Reno. The hotel is nice but certainly not in the class of the Vegas hotels. We went for a walk down the main street and we both admitted that we did not feel safe. It could just be our imagination but it just didn't feel right.
We went to Ichiban, a Japanese restaurant in the hotel. Ken and Mel the food is as good as you remember from Winnipeg.
