We went on a day trip to Lake Tahoe. We took Hwy 431 which turn out to have lots of curves like the Monte Carlo Grand Prix only with no guard rails. The road went up hill most of the way, at one point we were at an altitude of over 8000 feet at the summit of Mount Rose. At the lake we stopped at King's Beach.
Lake Tahoe is very beautiful like Mrs Lovely from North Carolina told us. Unfortunately Mrs. Lovely, you forgot to tell us about the awful roads!
Needless to say we did not want to come back to Reno on this road. We came back on Hwy 28 to Hwy 50 and then to Hwy 349 at Carson City. It was longer but it was better safer route and still very scenic.
We both gambled here in Reno. I lost all my money and came back to the room at 9PM. Brian did win! He spent $30.00 and came back to the room at 9:15PM with $30.25, a free deck of cards and two free drinks. So he is our big winner!
Later this week we will be staying in Los Angeles. Last night we got tickets for "Deal or No Deal" with Howie Mandel for Friday afternoon. We should arrive at Los Angeles on Thursday and will be staying until Sunday.
Tomorrow we are on to Bishop, California.
