Before we left, I realized that I had lost the key to the hotel room. We looked everywhere but we could not find it. Lucky for me they didn't question me when we checked out. So I guess I'm off the hook.
The trip along Oregon Highway 101 is one of the most scenic routes we've ever driven. It easily matches the California Pacific Coast Highway for its beauty. It varies from mountain vistas to grand shoreline views and large sand dunes. Along the way we saw two pods of whales, seals and a couple of lighthouses. To Jonah who was raised in Oregon and his father Steve, Mary, Austin, his mother Rachel and his aunt Kit who live in Oregon - What a beautiful state!
We truly enjoyed the drive along the coast listening to Josh Groban! We don't think life gets any better than this! We realize how lucky we are to be retired and able to travel for such a long time!
Hey Kari and Jonah - Here we are in Coos Bay where you guys spent your honeymoon!

After we booked into the hotel we went to Sunset Beach and saw an awe inspiring sunset. Too bad we left the camera back at the hotel. We'll do it again tomorrow.
They closed most of the restaurants here very early. We got back into town about 8pm and there was very little open. We finally found a Chinese restaurant for dinner. Instead of plum sauce for the egg rolls they gave us Ketchup. We didn't try it and instead asked for plum sauce.
