Day 16 - August 4 - Half Way To California

During the morning we did some shopping on Hawthorne St. in Portland with Jonah's aunt Kit.  It is a very colourful street with many boutiques.

While motoring down I5 we went through the town of Coburg where Brian got his $400 speeding ticket a couple of years ago.  There were 3 speed traps along the interstate in this town.  So if you ever happen to be in this area be forewarned.

While driving from Portland to Grants Pass- Mckenna our 3 year old granddaughter was singing her own made up songs. It's so much fun just sitting and listening to her-she really emphasizing the notes. Tonight she put on a show where she danced and sang tomorrow, tomorrow from Annie. We think she is going to be a Broadway star some day!

Liam was good during the trip down to Grants Pass. When we stopped at the rest area -he got us right back on the road-Lets get moving. He watched movies and read books during the trip.

This afternoon we arrived in Grant's Pass Or. home of Jonah's parents.  Steve and his partner Mary put on a quite a feast of lasagna and wine.  We've always felt welcome at their home.  The temperature this afternoon was over 90F and we spent most of time before dinner in the pool and hot tub. The hot tub has a beautiful view of the Cascade Mountains. After dinner we had a delicious dessert Mary made almond cake with blueberry compote. Then had fun playing a game of catch phrase, even Liam enjoyed playing this game and got some answers.

Tomorrow we are spending the day and night here in Grants Pass Oregon!
