Brian and Liam were going out to Alcatraz. Kari, Jonah, Mckenna and I were going shopping, but ran into Brian and Liam since they were unable to go to Alcatraz because it is booked to next Wednesday. So they went on a one hour harbour cruise around Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate Bridge. Kari, Jonah, Mckenna and I went for lunch. Afterwards we met Brian and Liam after their boat docked.
It was interesting talking to an eight year old. Among the topics we talked about were if the parents of the convicts in Alcatraz would be mad at their sons, the continuing adventures of Capt. Underpants, why do countries go to war and don't countries outlaw war.
Kari and Jonah went off to Haight Street shopping. Brian & I did some grandparenting. We had a great time-went on the carosel ride, ate ice cream, gharadeli chocolate. Brian wanted to take a trolley car to Chinatown for dinner. But Liam and Mckenna out voted him-they wanted to go to the Rainforest Cafe. We went to the Rainforest Cafe, lots of fun the animals come alive and there is a lightening storm every half hour.
After dinner we hiked up mountain with Brian pushing sleeping Mckenna in the stroller-Loumbard St to the crooked street in the world. Then walked an hour or about 20 blocks back to Marina Inn. Needless to say we all got lots of exercise and will sleep well tonight!
Tomorrow we are travelling on to San Bernadino.
